અમદાવાદમાં તારીખ ૨૯ અને ૩૦ માર્ચ ૨૦૦૮ ના રોજ વિવિધ કર્યકમોનું આયોજન કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું.

અમદાવાદ મેડીકલ ઍસોસિએશન હોલમાં તારીખ ૨૯ માર્ચ ૨૦૦૮ ના રોજ વિવિધ મહાનુભાવોનાં પ્રાસંગિક પ્રવચનનું આયોજન કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું. શ્રી હેમન્તભાઈ શાહ, શ્રી કૃષ્ણકન્તભાઇ વખારીયા, પ્રમુખ, વિશ્વ ગુજરાતી સમાજ, શ્રી પ્રવિણભાઈ શેઠ, શ્રી મધુસુદનભાઈ મહેતા, શ્રી હરિશ્ભાઈ ભાર્ગવ વિ. એ પ્રાસંગિક સંબોધન કર્યું.
મનોરંજન કાર્યક્રમનું આયોજન પણ કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું. ડૉ. સુરેશ શાહે સભા સંચાલનની જવાબદારી નિભાવી.

1. WELCOME & INAUGURATION
Shri Hemant Shah, President of NRIPA Ahmedabad warmly welcomed Presidents and delegates from the NRIP organisations in Ahmedabad, Aurangabad Coimbatore Nagpur Pune and ,Vadodara, , and thanked them for coming over to participate in the meeting .He introduced Shri Ramesh Kapadia President Marathwada Association of Parents of NRI’s Aurangabad, newly joined affiliate and other delegates Dr Kalpana Naik, Joint Treasurer, offered sweets on behalf of NRIPO Pune to the delegates, members and observers.
2. PROGRESS REPORT
Shri Harish Bhargava, President of CONRIPO, warmly greeted the Presidents and delegates and presented the Progress report which had been circulated earlier by e mail. Discussions on important points covered by the Progress Report followed.
2.1 Registration
Arising from the Progress Report the issue of Registration of CONRIPO was discussed in detail. It was stated by Shri Bhargava that registration should be processed and expenditure incurred on doing so only if all the affiliates wish to make CONRIPO functional. Shri Pravin Vaidya clarified that registration of CONRIPO is permissible in law and can be progressed since NRIPO, Pune and NRIPA, Vadodara are already registered with the Charity Commissioners of the respective states and that other affiliates can follow suit. Shri Ramesh Kapadia and others delegates participated in the discussions. Thereafter it was unanimously decided to make CONRIPO fully functional and that registration of CONRIPO at Pune, based on documents already signed, is processed on a time bound schedule.
2.2 Interaction with the Ministry
Important issues that arose during discussions with the then Minister, Hon’ble Shri Jagdish Tytler and the Secretary, Shri Nirmal Singh were described. It was stressed that substantial support from Government of India can be secured only when approach is made by CONRIPO as well as by NRI organisations in India and abroad. 3. IMPORTANT ISSUES & ACTION PLANS
Shri Harish Bhargava explained the issues that are important for NRIs as also for the parents and emphasised the need of Action Plans to delegates. He stated that essentially we have to create a family that cares and provides physical and emotional support to fellow members. Issues that are of vital importance were briefly identified. ·
Comprehensive health care – effective and at affordable cost.· Insurance, including long-term medical cover for hospitalisation and home care·
Resolution of problems relating to immigration ,travel & stay abroad· Security - Personal and of Property·
Financial security and formation of reliable trusteeship companies for individuals·
Legal Support.·
Social Welfare·

Worldwide Publicity·
Linkage with NRI organisation·
Setting up of NRIP organisation at new locations in India and abroad.
For effective dealing with the issues, Working Groups listed below were formed, with members drawn from the Afiliates. The Convenors of each group shall ensure close interaction between members of the group, invite external inputs as necessary and deliberate on relevant issues expeditiously. Members of affiliates not in a working group may be urged to convey their suggestions to convenor of the relevant working group. The convenors should send monthly progress reports to Secretary, CONRIPO and Presidents of the affiliates.

Responsibility: · Streamlining of procedures for issue / renewal of passport and visa to parents of NRIs on fast track by interacting with the concerned authorities.· Providing comprehensive information on applying and follow up, with high lighting of do’s and don’ts.· Consultation / counselling on problems related to immigration, visa, travel and stay overseas. Shri Ramesh Rawal, Advocate and licensed legal consultant, based in New York, has kindly offered to members of NRIP organisations, free of charge. He has been requested to provide a note providing advice on how to prepare a proper application for Visa and stay abroad, with justification that will be acceptable to the concerned authorities.

6. ADMINISTR
ATIVE AND PROCEDURAL ISSUES Registration of CONRIPO in Pune will be processed expeditiously under direction of Dr Malti Anagol.
7. RECONSTITUTION OF GOVERNING COUNCIL –
It was unanimously decided that the Governing Council, Executive committee and office bearers shall continue till the tenure ends in March 2009.
8. ANY OTHER MATTERS.
Letter addressed to Shri Harish Bhargava, President CONRIPO from Shri Kumar Kiwalkar ,President of NRIPO Pune nominating Shri Prabhakar Naik for representing NRIPO, Pune was read by Dr Kalpana Naik and taken on record.
9. FELICITATIONS.
Dr Bharat Gajjar, Executive Director of the SHALBY Hospital, sponsors of the meeting, was introduced by Shri Hemant Shah and felicitated by Shri Harish Bhargava, President CONRIPO. Dr Bharat Gajjar addressed the members, delegates and offered services of SHALBY Hospital whenever required by any member of CONRIPO affiliates. He was presented a memento by Shri Hemant Shah. Shri Harish Bhargava thanked Dr. Gajjar for arranging the very interesting visit covering the entire Hospital. Mementos were given to all delegates by Shri Hemant Shah President of NRIPA Ahmedabad. All hosts of Ahmedabad were felicitated for making excellent arrangements of the outstation delegates. NRIPA Ahmedabad was profusely thanked by President CONRIPO for making this event a memorable one.
